About Trinity

Our Beliefs

In Brief we hold fast to the Word of God, the Bible.

This means that all of our beliefs are in submission to the text of Scripture for it is the Word of God revealed to man for "teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. "

- 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Trinity is in cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention and affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, which is in line with our theological belief.

Our Mission

What’s our Mission?

To Glorify God by Making Disciples of our Neighbors and the Nations.

How do we do that?

We devote ourselves to studying the Word of God, the Bible, and to obeying the commands of the Bible, not out of obligation but in Faith that the Word of God will accomplish its purpose of leading people to Salvation (having Faith in Christ) and Sanctification (living like Christ).

Distinctives

It is important to note that our belief in Christ and His Word lead us to certain conclusions. The first and foremost conclusion is that we exist to Glorify God.

There are a great many Churches in America and even around the world that exist for people. We, in contrast, exist to Glorify God.  Therefore, a desire to reach the lost is not our goal, but is the outcome of our desire to Glorify God through obedience to His Word. We evangelize because it makes Christ known. We serve others, as commanded by God, to have them see our good works and Glorify our Father. Everything we do, every labor of our hands, is to be done in service for God's Glory.

This means we do not have for our goal an appeal to the desires of people. Our love for people is not found in our agreeing with them, it's not built on our common affinities or preferences, nor is it based on our desire for what they can offer us. We Love because God has loved us and He has commanded us to love others like Christ loves us. This is an important distinction that needs to be made because only when the first and greatest commandment is in its right place as our chief priority can we every hope to carry out the second in loving our neighbor.
